This is my own garden and was built over a period of 4 years as my budget allowed. At the back, only the tall birch tree and a pear tree remain from the original garden. My garden has an oval lawn with a brick mowing edge and small gazebo in the corner. There is also a circular gravel garden with a central sundial surrounded by lavender and beehive compost bin off to the side. This part of the garden is contained within a low box hedge and box balls and pyramids are planted within this space to give structure in the winter. 2 mophead trees also give height here. The L-shaped patio was built using Marshalls’ Heritage paving in new yorkstone colour. A single arched pergola separates the 2 areas allowing me to glimpse the end of the garden from my kitchen window. My garden is medium maintenance as I enjoy gardening! The front garden was built when the new drive was built and is laid to plum slate. There is a brick circle created from the same paving as the driveway and a spherical water feature set on black Chinese pebbles. The planting is naturalistic with grasses and perennials. The garden was built by Alger Landscapes between 2000 – 2003. Pictures taken 2006.
